Sven Van Calster begann mit 6 Jahren an der städtischen Musikschule "Jozef Pauly" in Ekeren Musikunterricht zu nehmen. Anschließend besuchte er in Antwerpen das künstlerische Gymnasium, wo er von Bart Van Neyghem in Euphonium und von Freddy Vander Koelen in Klavier unterrichtet wurde.
Nach seinem Abitur studierte Sven Van Calster Musik am Königlich-Flämischen Musikkonservatorium in Antwerpen: u.a. Euphonium bei Frans Violet, das Dirigieren von Blaskapellen bei Dirk De Caluwé und Arrangements bei Jan Hadermann.

Im Frühjahr 2001 bekam er die Verantwortung für das Jugendorchester "Vrede & Vermaak" in Kontich, wo er anschließend auch Leiter der großen Brassband desselben Vereins Anfang 2002 wurde. Er dirigiert auch das Jugendorchester in Brecht "Music Friends" und die Brassband "Sancta Cecilia" in Meerle.

Sven Van Calster began studying music at the age of 6 at the Municipal Academy for Music and Word "Jozef Pauly" in Ekeren. He then continued his studies at the art secondary school in Antwerp where he was taught by Bart Van Neyghem, Euphonium, and Freddy Vander Koelen, Piano.
After earning his diploma at the art secondary school, Sven Van Calster continued his studies in music at the Royal Flemish Music Conservatory in Antwerp. There he studied, among other things, Euphonium in the class of Frans Violet, wind band conducting in the class of Dirk De Caluwé and arranging with Jan Hadermann.

In the spring of 2001, he became responsible for the youth orchestra called "Vrede & Vermaak" in the town of Kontich, where he subsequently became director of the association's large brass band at the start of 2002. He is also the conductor of the "Music Friends" youth orchestra in Brecht and the "Sancta Cecilia" brass band in Meerle.
